Who is Randi
Randi is the glue of the family. She works hard in her craft of cake decorating. She has worked for the last decade as a cake decorator, starting in wedding cakes and branching out into all other designs. Her favorite projects are those that stretch her creative skills. She uses her talents to teach her craft to others through private lessons, her cake blog, and through the local community college. Randi also homeschools two teenagers and ensures they have a well-balanced lifestyle of activities, learning, and life experiences. She grew up on a farm and uses her experience from that to bring an urban farm to the 2-acre homestead by raising chickens, composting, and gardening.
The Man of the House
Curt is the breadwinner of the family and mega supporter of Randi’s efforts, no matter what they may be. He’s retired from a military career, has a great appreciation for the outdoors, and enjoys aircraft modeling. Curt is the family parachord dude and has quite a following for bracelets, dog leashes and is working on branching further into parachord. He is working on an outdoors themed blog where he writes about the family’s adventures hiking, fishing, camping, and various outdoors skills.
The Resident Gamer
AJ is happy behind his computer or playing Magic. He is the one who prompted the chicken fascination years ago with 3 Rhode Island Reds. He currently has 3 black Silkies that are his babies. AJ is active in Boy Scouts and is currently working on the last few steps towards Eagle. He has a great appreciation for nature and loves animals of all kinds, except the 8-legged variety. Although he did name one Bob but that is a story for another day. AJ is an excellent baker and his signature item is Buckeyes or chocolate chip cookies.
The Classic Teen
Natalie is a jack-of-all-trades. She shares her mom’s crafty gene. She is often found helping Randi with cake designs. In turn, learning a skill she can tuck under her job-hunting belt. Natalie has her own little flock of bantam chickens that are her pride and joy. She is also active in Boy Scouts as a Venturer. She has held various officer positions.
